Blue-headed Pionus

Blue-Headed Pionus
The Blue-headed Pionus have gentle, affectionate and quiet temperaments and are very suitable for a household with children. They also have a sweet smell.
In the wild, the pionus' range includes central and north/central South America. The Blue-headed Pionus is one of the many visitors to clay licks along the rivers. Feeding on this clay helps to neutralize toxins ingested through some of the tropical fruits, nuts and berries.
