Cockatiel

Cockatiel
In the wild, Cockatiels forage for seeds on the ground and in the shrubs of Australia. The wild color is predominately gray. The young birds remain in family groups for about one month.
Cockatiels will do better when they have the company of another bird. Cockatiels can be very territorial so if you are getting another cockatiel you will have to keep it on a separate cage until both cockatiels get used to each other, this might take several weeks.

Some Common Cockatiel Concerns:
My bird tends to have night scares, what do I do?
Night scares are VERY common in Cockatiels. The best solution is a night light near their cage. Do not cover their cage, reason for night scares is that the bird believes something is attacking & they are fearful a cover only increases that feeling. A night light probably won’t eliminate them, but it will definitely reduce them & make your birds feel safer.
My bird screams too much, what can I do to fix this?
