Our understanding of the daily care requirements and your role as caregiver in fulfilling them is demonstrated in the innovative design features of our cages.
- Ease of Care - EZ Care™ Cages feature our Exclusive! patent pending EZ Access door. The entire front of cage opens for easy cleaning and maintenance. All cages include a smaller door within the larger EZ Access door panel for use during routine interaction. Other features include an easy to slide-out, two position adjustable lower tray. The dual positioning option allows you to adjust the tray to suit your individual needs. The slide-out grill, assists in maintaining a clean and healthy habitat. Smooth rolling casters and the highly effective seed guards make maintaining and cleaning your habitat a lot easier.
- Durability - Your feathered friend is going to be around for a long time, and KAYTEE® Cages are built to last. EZ Care™ Cages feature solid weld construction and a durable textured finish making them the most sturdy and rust-resistant structures available.
- Spring-Loaded Latches - Birds are creatures of curiosity and often masters of escape. Spring-loaded latches provide that extra security and comfort when the prevention of 'unscheduled exploration' is high on your list. They also aide in the protection of your feathered companion from dangers and temptations (wood furniture, moldings...) in the environment on the outside of the cage. (Not available on Small Bird Playtop Models.)

No, we didn't forget our most important customer. Your bird! Sharing our lives with companion birds, gives the team at KAYTEE® a unique opportunity to observe their habits, personalities, and interactions with human family members. In addition, our work through the Kaytee® Avian Foundation and in our Avian Research Center gives us insight on behavior patterns and bird to bird interaction. As a direct result of these experiences, EZ Care™ Cages include design features that were inspired by companion birds.
- Enrichment - EZ Care™ Playtop models include a cage top enrichment center complete with ceramic water and treat dishes, natural wood perch, and an activity bar. The ceramic crocks are durable and easy to sterilize. The natural wood perches provide natural width variations for increase range of motion (important in the prevention of avian arthritis) and an ideal surface for maintaining healthy foot pads. The activity bar, ideal for both mental and physical stimulation, contains multiple attachment points for toys and enrichment tools, and extends the full length of the cage top.
- Horizontal Side Bars - To indulge their natural curiosities, companion birds sometimes choose to climb rather than fly between exploratory expeditions. This natural desire to explore not only provides mental exercise but also contributes to physical health as well. EZ Care™ Cages feature horizontal side bars to encourage climbing and promote physical exercise.
