Some birds are opportunists and will eat a variety of foods; others are picky eaters. Kaytee meets these varied needs with specialty mixes and quality products.

Kaytee procures ingredients for our mixes in North America and all over the world! Following are the basic seeds used in our products.

Oil Sunflower is among the most desired seeds for a wide array of birds. Its high fat content provides much needed energy.
Attracts: Chickadees, Cardinals, Nuthatches, Goldfinches and Juncos.
Striped Sunflower is a high oil content food that is appealing to larger birds because of its size and hard shell.
Attracts: Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, Grosbeaks, Titmice and Cardinals.
Nyjer® is considered the premier seed for attracting many varieties of finches and other small songbirds. This small seed is rich in oil and protein and is high in nutrition.
Attracts: American Goldfinches, Purple Finches, Housefinches, Pine Siskins and Indigo Buntings.
Safflower is a high oil content seed that is very desirable to cardinals. Because of its bitter taste, squirrels will not eat it.
Attracts: Cardinals, Chickadees, Brown Thrashers, Nuthatches, and Evening Grosbeaks.
A good source of starch, vitamins and minerals, millet is generally the preferred food of birds that favor smaller seeds.
Attracts: Sparrows, Juncos, Towhees, Mourning Doves and Chickadees.
Peanuts are a very good source of fat and protein. They can be offered either whole or shelled.
Attracts: Blue Jays, Titmice, Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Bluebirds.
Cracked Corn is a good source of oil and starch and is an especially valuable food to feed during the winter. It is also a good source to attract small animals to the feeding area.
Attracts: Bluebirds, Mourning Doves, Juncos, Indigo Buntings and Woodpeckers.
The Wild Bird Mix, an economical mix featuring millet and sunflower, has the proper variety of ingredients to attract many different types of birds.
Attracts: Cardinals, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Mourning Doves and White-Crowned Sparrows.
Sunflower Hearts & Chips' high oil content offers a highly nutritious food that leaves no seed hulls under the feeder.
Attracts: Finches, Juncos, Cardinals, Chickadees, Titmice, Grosbeaks.
Waste Free is 100% consumable; there is no seed hull mess under the feeder.
Attracts: Cardinals, Jays, Chickadees, Finches, Woodpeckers
Songbirds Premium Food is a blend of three types of sunflower, as well as peanuts & corn, making it the most desired blend of colorful songbirds.
Birders' Blend contains a superior blend of specialty seeds, grains and nuts to attract a wide variety of birds year-round.
Attracts: A variety of desirable birds.
