Will feeding the birds during the winter months help them survive?

Winter Blend Wild Bird Food

Birds will survive the winter if they become acclimated and can find enough to eat. They build up a fat layer that provides insulation against the cold. During the winter, provide Kaytee black-oil sunflower seeds and the woodpeckers and nuthatches will gather throughout the day. Kaytee suet attracts a wide variety of species and nyjer seed will attract the finches in crowds. Wild birds can survive very low temperatures if given enough food to maintain their body fat.
